Free Friday - Confirmed.

A few days ago I posted about how I heard about Free Nook Books every friday at B&N.  See the post here.  Well, I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that it DOES work!  I just downloaded Tim Davys’ Amberville.  Yay!  I have no idea if this book is any good, but I plan on visiting the B&N blog every friday because I'm sure every once in a while they are bound to have good books you can download for free. :)

B&N The Nook Blog - Free ebooks!!

Ok, seriously, how long has this been going on before I found it?!  Did you know B&N has "Free Fridays?" I love my nook, and I also love free, so this is amazing.

This is what B&N says "Each week, we ask our featured author to recommend a book or author that you may want to check out. Since authors are such passionate readers themselves, we thought you might like to find out what they love to read, too"  

Supposedly, the book they recommend is free for that day only.  So may sure to subscribe to their blog or check it out once a week to get these free books.  I scrolled through the books they have offered in the past, and I haven't heard of most of the books (well, aside from Jane Eyre and The Lord of the Flies) but I figured if an author enjoys reading it, the book can't be half bad. 

I'm going to try to download a free book on Friday and I'll let you know how it goes.

Sams Club non-members Welcome this weekend!

This is an FYI for everyone.  If you are a Sams Club member, get your shopping done Thursday or wait until Monday!  Every year Sams Club lets non-members come into the store to try to hook us into joining the rest of the year.  Fortunately for non-members (like myself), that weekend is this weekend!  (Just in time for back to school season)  Therefore, if I were a Sams Club member, I would avoid this store if at all possible.  I also learned that some states (Illinois is NOT one of them) have a tax free weekend.  More info here.

Free Kitchen scissors

Do you need kitchen scissors?  If so - head over to facebook here.  Fill out the order form and you should get scissors soon.  The site says it will ship in 5 days!  Not bad. :)

My birthday happens to be on Monday the 6th, which is one of the days they offer the free breakfast, so .... I get free breakfast on my Birthday! :) Lucky me!

Nook books for FREE!

 I love free books.  And I LOVE my nook. :) I bought the nook a while ago, before the kindle came out with free books.  I was all sad when the kindle had free books and the nook didn't.  However, Barnes and Noble right now has 6 books for free!!  HURRY! The deal ends July 26th.

There is a catch (but its worth it).  You have to try Barnes and Noble new browser-based reader.  Go to this site at Barnes and Noble.  Click "Read it now".  Scroll down to sample each title, then click "NOOK Book: $0.00" in the top right corner to purchase.

I've been gone for a long time.  Basically since I started house shopping.  Well, since then I found a house and I've been battling contractors for a while trying to update a 50's style kitchen and bathroom.  And let me tell you, there are good 50's styles... and there are bad 50's style.  A pink bathtub with baby blue wall tile is not my idea of a good 50's style bathroom.

Go here to play a quick flash game on facebook.  You can earn $5 in pals rewards money.  All you have to do is get $100 in your virtual cart and you'll get $5 REAL dollars!  Its really not that hard (although the virtual carts are a bit difficult to control).  Make sure you have a Petco Pals card or register one when your done playing the game.

There are a TON of items for less than $5 at Petco, so you can find stuff for free.  Petco has a ton of items for Dogs, Cats and Fish.  There are also some items for Gerbals, Birds and other smaller animals.

Caribou Coffee is my new favorite

Caribou coffee has become my new favorite coffee shop.  Today they are offering another BOGO offer here. C and I just took a stroll down to Caribou (and enjoyed this wonderful sunny and warm weather) and got our morning coffee.  (well he got tea)

Free ABP coffee mug.

Wow,  Its been a LONG time since I last posted.  Sorry!  I've been really caught up with house hunting.  C and I have officially looked at 20 houses.  We made an offer on one home, but someone else made a higher offer.  So we are still looking.

After our last outting, we have 2 possible houses that we like.

But anyway, back to the free coffee mug.

Au Bon Pain is offering a free coffee mug here if you sign up for their email club  ABP is next door to my work so a lot of people I know frequent there.  I don't know the exact prices, but I know if you have an ABP reusable coffee mug you get a discounted price on a regular coffee.  Normally ABP makes you pay for the cup, but if you sign up its free. :)

ABP usually does this once a year and I got my free coffee mug last year.  

To make matters even better, on your 1 year "anniversary" of signing up for the email, you get a coupon for a free coffee AND pastry!

ABP doesn't bombard me with emails either.  They probably send me an email once a week about a new item.  Quite frequently it has a coupon in it also. :)

More Free stuff for Valentines Day

 Well my boyfriend and I returned a few hours ago from Caribou coffee with our BOGO.  Since then I have found a few other free items for today.  Reference my previous post here for additional items I mentioned that are free today.

• Go here to get free k-cup hot chocolate. :) Supplies limited.  You will probably have to refresh the page a few times.

•  Want some ice cream?  Go to Ben and Jerry's today from 5-8 PM.  You can get a free scoop of Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream.  I have no idea if this flavor is any good, but free is free. 

• Do you love Bath and Body works?  Use this coupon for a FREE signature collection travel size item of your choice.  One of my friends got me a bunch of travel items for last Halloween.  She gave me hand sanitizer and lotion.  They come in handy ALL the time.  I use the sanitizer every time I have to open a garbage can because for some reason garbage can lids REALLY gross me out. 
  
  On a side note.  This coupon is good until 2/20.  So you still have a few days to make it to a Bath and Body works.

• Burger King has a BOGO deal also.  It lasts until March 5th (I think).  Go here for details.  Essentially buy any Original, Club, or Italian Chicken Sandwich and get another for free. :)

On a side note.  While the next free item is for February 28th, free is still nice. 

• IHOP will give away a free short stack of pancakes in honor of "National Pancake Day."  In return they are asking for a small donation for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals(c) and other designated local charities.

Corner Bakery's are offering a Breakfast Thin for FREE if you sign up and make a reservation. 

I have no idea what a "Power Panini Thin" is (which is the only thing they are offering for free).  I've searched the Corner Bakery website and tried to find nutritional info online.  Unfortunately I have had no success. It looks like low carb bread with eggs, cheese and bacon. 

I signed up for Monday morning.  :) I have tried VERY hard to have a real breakfast every morning I work out (usually Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays).  So this just means I will have one less day to make breakfast.

The Firecracker Chicken is fairly good for you as far as Calories and Fat 240/10, however it has 1080 mg of sodium, so watch out for the rest of the day. 

If you just drink water for lunch, you can really walk away from here without spending a dime.

Friday Jan 6th to Sunday the 8th certain Cable providers are providing Free Showtime. :) Dexter is possibly one of my favorite shows of all time.  If I didn't already have a $95 cable bill I would consider adding showtime, however since I can buy a season of Dexter for $30 or less, it just doesn't make sense to me.

However, free is always nice.
