At work we are dealing with the Chinese and the Spanish (as in Spain). Therefore, frequently things will be translated from Chinese to Spanish to English. Lets just say, a LOT gets lost in translation.
But what I really want to write about is how stupid people sound when they say "So it was translated from Chinese to Spanish to American?" This happens quite frequently and when this happens I want to scream American is not a language you moron! However, I bite my tongue (sometimes literally) and move on with the conversation.
Statements like this make me fear for future generations.
